Getting started after a month off is hard, focus is lax. Fortunately we didn’t get flung too deep into subject matter. Getting an overview of the origin and present mutation of the class was good. Two phrases that caught my attention were “looking at Western culture through missional eyes” and “what makes a section of culture bad is if God is ignored or people are oppressed”. Because Western culture is “normal” for me I’ve recognized that it is hard for me to look at it from a neutral Christocentric perspective. I hope this class helps.
